What Is The Daisy Award?

What Is The Daisy Award?

Daisy Award (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) is an international program that recognizes and celebrates the competent and compassionate care provided by nurses and midwives.

The family of J. Patrick Barnes established the DAISY Foundation after he died from complications of the autoimmune disease ITP. During his hospital stay, they appreciated the care and compassion that the nursing staff showed Patrick and his entire family, so they felt compelled to say "thank you" in a very public way. If you would like to thank your nurse for his/her special care, please fill out the DAISY nomination form and tell us your story. Let us know why this person has had such a positive impact on your care and what special qualities they have that make them stand out.
