Dr. Okan Kucukakkas is a Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with 15 years of clinical and academic experience in Turkey and the UAE. He provides comprehensive rehabilitation care for patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, orthopedic and rheumatologic conditions, focusing on functional recovery, mobility, pain reduction and independence.
He graduated from Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine in 2010 and completed his PM&R specialty training at Izmir Katip Celebi University in 2015. He worked at Cihanbeyli Government Hospital between 2015 and 2017, served as a faculty member at Bezmialem University from 2017 to 2022, and has practiced rehabilitation medicine in Abu Dhabi since 2022.
His areas of interest include neurorehabilitation for stroke, spinal cord injury and cerebral palsy; orthopedic rehabilitation after fractures, tendon injuries and joint replacement; musculoskeletal and spine disorders; osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and chronic pain; inflammatory rheumatic diseases; and interventional procedures such as intra-articular injections, PRP, hyaluronic acid and corticosteroid injections, botulinum toxin and trigger point injections.
He received the title of Associate Professor in Turkey in 2021, is certified by the European Board of PM&R, and has contributed to more than 30 scientific publications, books and case presentations.
